Interview Table: coaching, positioned to convert

A Northamptonshire career coaching business built on 30 years in technology, of which more than 25 in senior leadership and hiring, needing a site that made that credibility obvious in the first few seconds. We hand-coded a site around the founder's Discover, Position, Prepare, Perform method, with pricing laid out by career stage and real, clearly attributed coaching outcomes front and centre.

Our own business: Interview Table is founded and run by Hugo, who also runs Handbuilt Web. This is a portfolio example of our work on our own business.

The business

Coaching built from the other side of the hiring table

Interview Table was built by Hugo, a coach with 30 years in technology, including more than 25 years leading national-scale digital and technology services and senior hiring for government and global technology employers. That experience sitting on the hiring side of the table, deciding who got through and who didn't, is the foundation the coaching is built on.

The coaching started unpaid, for family, friends and work colleagues: two daughters, a niece, colleagues navigating a promotion round, and friends between jobs, each helped through real applications and interviews. Interview Table turns that into a proper coaching practice, open to anyone from graduates to senior leaders.

The brief

A site that reads as senior, not generic careers advice

There is no shortage of careers advice online, most of it generic. Interview Table needed a site that set itself apart immediately: a founder story that explains why the coaching works, a clear method instead of vague promises, pricing that makes sense for very different audiences, and real results instead of stock testimonials.

The brief also had to cover three separate audiences with three separate needs: graduates and early career candidates, professionals changing direction, and senior leaders and executives, each requiring different pricing and different framing on the same site.

What we built

A hand-coded site built around a clear method

We hand-coded a site structured around the Discover, Position, Prepare, Perform method used in every coaching engagement, with three pricing tracks laid out clearly by career stage rather than a single one-size-fits-all offer.

Real results carry the site rather than testimonials alone: three named case outcomes, each with the specific coaching that got them there, alongside honest numbers: 3 graduates coached through the full process, 6 confirmed job offers secured across teaching, engineering and technology, and 30 years in technology, of which more than 25 in senior leadership and hiring, behind the method.

The method

Discover, Position, Prepare, Perform

The same four-stage method behind every coaching engagement, from a graduate's first application to an executive career move.

01 · Discover

Discover

Working out real strengths and the right roles to target, before a single application goes out.

02 · Position

Position

Rebuilding the CV and applications around what employers are actually looking for.

03 · Prepare

Prepare

Practising psychometric tests and assessment centres before they count.

04 · Perform

Perform

Interview coaching from someone who has sat on the other side of the table.

Pricing, by career stage

Three tracks, not one price for everyone

Laid out clearly on the live site, so a graduate and a senior leader both know immediately whether it's for them, from a self-paced guide through to a full 1:1 journey.

The website separates graduate support, professional career moves and senior leadership coaching, helping visitors find the relevant route.

In their own words

“Every coaching conversation starts from the same place: what does the other side of this table actually want to see?”
“I built this because I kept doing it for family, friends and work colleagues, and it kept working.”

What changed

Before and after

Before

No website. Coaching happened informally, through family and word of mouth, with no way for a stranger to find the service, understand pricing, or see proof it worked.

After

A site that lays out the method, pricing by career stage and clearly attributed coaching outcomes, with a clear path from any page to requesting a consultation.
